Dover: The White Cliffs and Castle (Valenfives Day 4)

On Friday we went to Dover to see the white cliffs and the castle!

It is only about an hour’s ride away from St. Pancras station, but watch out because it is a lot of walking. I wore my Bean Boots because I thought they would give me the best protection, and I am very glad I did. The cliffs were extra muddy (it was raining on and off) so I sloshed through without a problem!

There was an opportunity to try on military jackets so…

And of course: the white cliffs.

Dover was wonderful.

We were EXHAUSTED by the time we hiked all the way back to the town center, and decided to dine at the Eight Bells pub for our Valentine’s Day dinner. They had a really great special on and we were able to get two drinks, two mains, and two desserts for twenty pounds. Our menus ended up being the following:

Me: salmon with a side salad and a baked potato, Eli’s salted caramel cheesecake, and a Foster’s.

Jack: steak with fries, peas, hot fudge cake, and This.Is.Lager. (by Brewdog).

Excellent food, nice people, and a beautiful view. Dover was a perfect way to spend the day together!
